When the sun set and it became dark, behold, there was a smoking oven and a fiery torch that passed between these pieces.

So the water ran around the altar and he also filled the trench with water.


Answer me, Adonai, answer me, so that these people may know that You, Adonai, are God, and that You have turned their heart back again.”


In response, Elijah said to them, “If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your 50.” And the fire of God came down from heaven and consumed him and his 50.


David built there an altar to Adonai and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. He called on Adonai and He answered him with fire from heaven upon the altar of burnt offering.
