They buried him and all Israel lamented over him, just as was the word of Adonai that He spoke through His servant Ahijah the prophet.


Because Rehoboam humbled himself, the anger of Adonai turned from him and He did not destroy him completely. Indeed there were good things in Judah.


Nevertheless, good things are found in you, for you have removed the Asherah poles out of the land and have set your heart to seek God.”


“If you say, ‘How we will pursue him, since the root of the matter is found in him;’


Weep not for the dead or bemoan him. Weep bitterly for him who departs, for he will never return, or see his native country again.


Therefore thus says Adonai about Jehoiakim son of King Josiah of Judah: “They will not lament for him, ‘Oy , my brother!’ or ‘Oy , sister!’ They will not lament for him, ‘Oy , master!’ or ‘Oy , his majesty!’


When they saw that Aaron had died, the entire community mourned Aaron 30 days.
