Then he went and found his carcass lying on the road, with the donkey and the lion standing by the carcass. The lion had not eaten the carcass nor mauled the donkey.


He laid his carcass in his own tomb and they mourned over him saying, “Oy , my brother!”


“Let him rest,” he said. “Let no one disturb his bones.” So they left his bones undisturbed along with the bones of the prophet who came from Samaria.


When John’s disciples heard, they came and took his body and laid it in a tomb.
