8 Now therefore, in the sight of all Israel, the congregation of Adonai and in the hearing of our God, observe and seek all the mitzvot of Adonai your God so that you may possess this good land and may bequeath it to your children after you forever.

I will establish his kingdom forever, if he resolutely observes My mitzvot and My ordinances as at this day.’


“Now you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve Him with a whole heart and with a willing mind; for Adonai searches all hearts and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you. But if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.


Therefore, do not give your daughters to their sons nor take their daughters for your sons. Do not seek their shalom or their welfare, so that you may be strong, eat the good things of the land and leave it as an inheritance for your children forever.’


Help me discern the way of Your precepts, so I may meditate on Your wonders.


You have commanded that Your precepts be kept diligently.


So I may always keep Your Torah, forever and ever,


“With all the things that I have said to you, take heed. Make no mention of the names of other gods, and do not let them be heard in your mouth.


A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous.


My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my mitzvot.


Seek from the scroll of Adonai, and read! Not one of them will be missing; none will lack its mate. For His mouth commanded it, and His Ruach gathered them.


So I sent for you immediately, and you have been kind enough to come. Now then, we are all here before God to hear all that you have been commanded by the Lord.”


Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, because they received the message with goodwill, searching the Scriptures each day to see whether these things were true.


Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, “Keep the whole mitzvah that I am commanding you today.


your children, your wives, and the outsider within your camp (from your woodchopper to your water carrier).


“Indeed you know how we dwelt in the land of Egypt and how we crossed through the nations that we passed through.


“Now, O Israel, listen to the statutes and ordinances that I am teaching you to do, so that you may live and go in and possess the land that Adonai the God of your fathers is giving you.


I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that you will certainly be carried off quickly from the land you are crossing over the Jordan to possess. You will not prolong your days on it, for you will certainly be destroyed.


You must keep and do them, for it is your wisdom and understanding in the eyes of the peoples, who will hear all these statutes and say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’


If you forsake Adonai and worship foreign gods, then He will turn and do you harm and consume you, after He has done good to you.”
