I also gave you your master’s house and your master’s wives into your bosom, and I gave you the house of Israel and of Judah. Now if that were too little, then I would have added to you so much more.


Yet this was a small thing in Your eyes, my Lord Adonai—for You have spoken also of Your servant’s house for the distant future. This is a revelation for humanity, my Lord Adonai.


Moreover I have also given you what you did not request—both riches and honor—so that no one among the kings will be like you all your days.


Yet this is an easy thing in Adonai’s eyes—for He will also deliver the Moabites into your hand.


Then King David went in and sat before Adonai, and said, “Who am I, Adonai Elohim, and what is my family, that You have brought me thus far?


“What more can David say to You for honoring Your servant? For You know Your servant.


So He says, “It is too trifling a thing that You should be My servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and restore the preserved ones of Israel. So I will give You as a light for the nations, that You should be My salvation to the end of the earth.”


Now to Him who is able to do far beyond all that we ask or imagine, by means of His power that works in us,
