On the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they were going to give him the name of his father Zechariah.


When the eight days were completed for his circumcision, he was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.


But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and then both are preserved.


“I am a Jewish man, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel and instructed according to the strict manner of the law of our fathers, being zealous for God, just as all of you are today.


Now when Paul realized that some were Sadducees and others were Pharisees, he cried out in the Sanhedrin, “Brothers, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee. It is regarding the hope of the resurrection of the dead that I am on trial.”


In those days, as the disciples increased in number, a complaint arose against the Hebrews on the part of the Hellenists that their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food.


I ask then, has God rejected his people? Certainly not! For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.


Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they the offspring of Abraham? So am I.
