But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have Pilate release for them Barabbas instead.


They all cried out again, “Not this man, but Barabbas!” (Now Barabbas was an insurrectionist.)


Every Sabbath he reasoned in the synagogue and tried to persuade both Jews and Greeks.
