“Woe to you, blind guides, who say, ‘If anyone swears by the temple, it is nothing; but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.’


You fools and blind men! Which is greater, the gold or the temple that makes the gold sacred?


You fools and blind men! Which is greater, the gift or the altar that makes the gift sacred?


But you teach that it is acceptable for a man to say to his father or mother, ‘Whatever benefit yoʋ might have received from me is Corban’ ” (that is, a gift to God).


I testify again to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to keep the entire law.
