Then he said to them, “Whose image and inscription is this?”


Jesus said to him, “ ‘Yoʋ shall love the Lord yoʋr God with all yoʋr heart, with all yoʋr soul, and with all yoʋr mind.’


Then Jesus said to him, “Get behind me, Satan! For it is written, ‘Yoʋ shall worship the Lord yoʋr God, and him only shall yoʋ serve.’ ”


In response Jesus said to them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.” And they were amazed at him.


He said to them, “Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.”


They began to accuse him, saying, “We found this man perverting the nation and forbidding us to pay taxes to Caesar, declaring himself to be Christ, a king.”


But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge.


But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.


Therefore render to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, fear to whom fear is due, and honor to whom honor is due.
