Then Jesus called the crowd over and said to them, “Listen and understand:

There is nothing outside of a person that can defile him by going into him, but the things that come out of a person are what defile him.


Meanwhile, when the crowd had gathered together by the thousands, so that they were trampling on one another, Jesus began to speak first to his disciples: “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.


So Philip ran up to it and heard the man reading the prophet Isaiah. He said, “Do yoʋ understand what yoʋ are reading?”
