While Pilate was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent him this message: “Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of him.”


saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” But they said, “What is that to us? See to it yoʋrself.”


Now when the centurion and those who were keeping watch with him over Jesus saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they became very frightened and said, “Truly this man was the Son of God.”


They cried out again, “Crucify him!”


Then Pilate, wishing to satisfy the crowd, released for them Barabbas. But he scourged Jesus and handed him over to be crucified.


but they kept on shouting, “Crucify, crucify him!”


Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowd, “I find no fault in this man.”


The two of us are justly condemned, for we are receiving the appropriate punishment for the things we have done, but this man has done nothing wrong.”


Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God and said, “Surely this man was righteous.”


Pilate said to him, “What is truth?” After he said this, he again went out to the Jews and said to them, “I find no fault in him.


When the chief priests and the officers saw him, they cried out, “Crucify, crucify him!” But Pilate said to them, “You take him and crucify him, for I find no fault in him.”


Even though they found no grounds for a death sentence, they asked Pilate to have him killed.


But when they realized he was a Jew, a single outcry arose from them all as they shouted for about two hours, “Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!”


It was fitting for us to have such a high priest, one who is holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.


but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or spot.
