Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to yoʋ that today, on this night, before a rooster crows twice, yoʋ will deny me three times.”


Then they went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, “Sit here while I go and pray.”


But they continued insistently with loud voices, demanding that he be crucified, and their voices prevailed, along with those of the chief priests.


Peter said to him, “Lord, why can I not follow yoʋ now? I will lay down my life for yoʋ.”
