There he was transfigured before them; his face shone like the sun, and his garments became as white as light.


After this, Jesus appeared in a different form to two of his followers as they were walking along in the countryside.


Now when all the people were baptized, and when Jesus had also been baptized and was praying, the heavens were opened,


But he would often withdraw to desolate places and pray.


One day soon afterward Jesus went out to the mountain to pray, and spent the whole night in prayer to God.


Once when Jesus was praying in private and the disciples were with him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?”


And behold, two men were talking with him; they were Moses and Elijah,


The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.


And all who were sitting in the Sanhedrin stared at Stephen intently and saw that his face was like the face of an angel.


Then I saw a great white throne and one who sat upon it. The earth and the sky fled from his face, and no place was found for them.
