So he assembled all the chief priests and scribes of the people, and inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.


Early in the morning he again went to the temple courts. All the people came, and he sat down and taught them.


they said to Jesus, testing him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the very act of committing adultery.


When they heard this, they were convicted by their own consciences and began to go away one by one, starting with the older men. So Jesus was left alone, with the woman there before him.


So they brought the man who was once blind to the Pharisees.


After making Peter and John stand before them, they began to question them: “By what power or by what name did you do this?”


So then, she will be called an adulteress if she is joined to another man while her husband is alive. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law and is not committing adultery if she is joined to another man.
