Jesus answered them, “You are in error because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God.


Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and enter into his glory?”


But they did not understand what this meant. It was concealed from them, so that they could not grasp it, and they were afraid to ask him about it.


So when he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.


explaining and presenting evidence that it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead, saying, “This Jesus whom I am proclaiming to you is the Christ.”


But God raised him up, releasing him from the pangs of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.
