7 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before Peter, and a light shone in the cell. The angel struck Peter on the side and woke him up, saying, “Get up quickly!” And the chains fell off Peter's hands.

After they were gone, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Rise, take the child and his mother and flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell yoʋ, for Herod is about to seek the child, to destroy him.”


And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear.


While they were greatly perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling clothes.


Cornelius said, “Four days ago I was fasting until this hour. At the ninth hour I was praying in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing.


Immediately an angel of the Lord struck Herod down because he did not give glory to God, and he was eaten by worms and breathed his last breath.


The very night before Herod was going to bring him out, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, while the guards in front of the door were keeping watch over the prison.


Then the angel said to him, “Get dressed and put on yoʋr sandals.” And Peter did so. Then the angel said to him, “Put on yoʋr cloak and follow me.”


Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. Immediately all the doors opened, and all the chains came loose.


But God raised him up, releasing him from the pangs of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.


But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the prison, brought them out, and said,


As he was going along, he drew near to Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.


Therefore it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine upon yoʋ.”


Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve those who will inherit salvation?


After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven. He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory.
