I will be his father, and he shall be my son: if he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men;


And the LORD raised up an adversary unto Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he was of the king's seed in Edom.


And he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee:


And I will for this afflict the seed of David, but not for over.


And Solomon did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.


But if ye shall turn away from following me, ye or your children and not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but shall go and serve other gods, and worship them:


we have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgements, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses.


Let him take his rod away from me, And let not his terror make me afraid:


And now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit, I will visit their sin upon them.


You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will visit upon you all your iniquities.
