What is man, that he should be clean? And he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?


I was cast upon thee from the womb: Thou art my God from my mother's belly.


Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; And in sin did my mother conceive me.


Day and night they go about upon the walls thereof: Iniquity also and mischief are in the midst of it.


Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; But the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.


Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which have been borne by me from the belly, which have been carried from the womb:


Yea, thou heardest not; yea, thou knewest not; yea, from of old thine ear was not opened: for I knew that thou didst deal very treacherously, and wast called a transgressor from the womb.


Woe to them that devise iniquity and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.


among whom we also all once lived in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest:--
