And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the Plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.


I have seen the foolish taking root: But suddenly I cursed his habitation.


He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: He shall hold fast thereby, but it shall not endure.


Whoso is wise shall give heed to these things, And they shall consider the mercies of the LORD.


God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, He shall take thee up, and pluck thee out of thy tent, And root thee out of the land of the living. Selah


Righteousness guardeth him that is upright in the way: But wickedness overthroweth the sinner.


The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: But the tent of the upright shall flourish.


The wicked is thrust down in his evil-doing: But the righteous hath hope in his death.


When the wicked are increased, transgression increaseth: But the righteous shall look upon their fall.


Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, mad the just shall walk in them; but transgressors shall fall therein.


I have overthrown some among you, as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a brand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.


Howbeit with most of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
