He that denounceth his friends for a prey, Even the eyes of his children shall fail.


Let me not, I pray you, respect any man's person; Neither will I give flattering titles unto any man.


Howbeit, Job, I pray thee, hear my speech, And hearken to all my words.


My words shall utter the uprightness of my heart: And that which my lips know they shall speak sincerely.


Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his Maker?


He that rebuketh a man shall afterward find more favour Than he that flattereth with the tongue.


A man that flattereth his neighbour Spreadeth a net for his steps.


For am I now persuading men, or God? or am I seeking to please men? if I were still pleasing men, I should not be a servant of Christ.


For neither at any time were we found using words of flattery, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness, God is witness;
