But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.


They are gaunt with want and famine; They gnaw the dry ground; in the gloom of wasteness and desolation.


They are driven forth from the midst of men; They cry after them as after a thief.


Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was an herdman, and a dresser of sycomore trees:


And he would fain have been filled with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
