I will be surety for him; of my hand shalt thou require him: if I bring him not unto thee, and set him before thee, then let me bear the blame for ever:


For thy servant became surety for the lad unto my father, saying, If I bring him not unto thee, then shall I bear the blame to my father for ever.


Call now; is there any that will answer thee? And to which of the holy ones wilt thou turn?


There is no daysman betwixt us, That might lay his hand upon us both.


Be surety for thy servant for good: Let not the proud oppress me.


He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: But he that hateth suretiship is sure.


A man void of understanding striketh hands, And becometh surety in the presence of his neighbour.


Take his garment that is surety for a stranger; And hold him in pledge that is surety for strangers.


Be thou not one of them that strike hands, Or of them that are sureties for debts:


So shall thy poverty come as a robber, And thy want as an armed man.


Like a swallow or a crane, so did I chatter; I did mourn as a dove: mine eyes fail with looking upward; O LORD, I am oppressed, be thou my surety.


by so much also hath Jesus become the surety of a better covenant.
