And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.


He hath stripped me of my glory, And taken the crown from my head.


He hath cast me into the mire, And I am become like dust and ashes.


When I made sackcloth my clothing, I became a proverb unto them.


Let the enemy pursue my soul, and overtake it; Yea, let him tread my life down to the earth, And lay my glory in the dust. Selah
