Of these, twenty and four thousand were to oversee the work of the house of the LORD; and six thousand were officers and judges:


And the Tirshatha said unto them, that they should not eat of the most holy things till there stood up a priest with Urim and with Thummim.


Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; Yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.


Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.


and hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God.


Her priests have done violence to my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and the common, neither have they caused men to discern between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.


But when the people of the land shall come before the LORD in the appointed feasts, he that entereth by the way of the north gate to worship shall go forth by the way of the south gate; and he that entereth by the way of the south gate shall go forth by the way of the north gate: he shall not return by the way of the gate whereby he came in, but shall go forth straight before him.


then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the LORD, before the priests and the judges which shall be in those days;


and the priests the sons of Levi shall come near; for them the LORD thy God hath chosen to minister unto him, and to bless in the name of the LORD; and according to their word shall every controversy and every stroke be:


but if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how men ought to behave themselves in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
