And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, that Evil-merodach king of Babylon, in the year that he began to reign, did lift up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah out of prison;


Then they took the king, and carried him up unto the king of Babylon to Riblah; and they gave judgement upon him.


But God is the judge: He putteth down one, and lifteth up another.


For riches are not for ever; And doth the crown endure unto all generations?


Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.


Say thou unto the king and to the queen-mother, Humble yourselves, sit down: for your headtires are come down, even the crown of your glory.


The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us! for we have sinned.


And I put a ring upon thy nose, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head.


And all the trees of the field shall know that I the LORD have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish: I the LORD have spoken and have done it.
