And it came to pass, when the king heard the saying of the man of God, which he cried against the altar in Beth-el, that Jeroboam put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not draw it back again to him.


Therefore he said that he would destroy them, Had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, To turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.


My flesh trembleth for fear of thee; And I am afraid of thy judgements. ע AIN


Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; On a sudden shall he be broken and that without remedy.


Moreover the spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of the LORD'S house, which looketh eastward: and behold, at the door of the gate five and twenty men; and I saw in the midst of them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.


And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,


Nevertheless mine eye spared them from destroying them, neither did I make a full end of them in the wilderness.


So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold an earthquake, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.


And thou, son of man, thus saith the Lord GODunto the land of Israel, An end: the end is come upon the four corners of the land.


And it came to pass, while they were smiting, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?


Therefore have I hewed them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and thy judgements are as the light that goeth forth.


And it came to pass that when they made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, O Lord GOD forgive, I beseech thee: how shall Jacob stand? for he is small.


Then said I, O Lord GOD cease, I beseech thee: how shall Jacob stand? for he is small.


And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.


And she fell down immediately at his feet, and gave up the ghost: and the young men came in and found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her by her husband.


And Ananias hearing these words fell down and gave up the ghost: and great fear came upon all that heard it.


For he will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and he will destroy thee quickly.
