And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.


When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy?


Let the glory of the LORD endure for ever; Let the LORD rejoice in his works:


for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.


Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily ye shall keep my sabbaths: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD which sanctify you.


Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.


If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, and the holy of the LORD honourable; and shalt honour it, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:


Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.


Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.


and hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God.


For he that is entered into his rest hath himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.
