An altar of earth you shall make for me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen; in every place where I cause my name to be remembered I will come to you and bless you.

He made the holy anointing oil also, and the pure fragrant incense, blended as by the perfumer.


Until the day breathe and the shadows flee, turn, my beloved, be like a gazelle, or a young stag upon rugged mountains.


What is that coming up from the wilderness, like a column of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all the fragrant powders of the merchant?


nard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense, myrrh and aloes, with all chief spices—
