Revelation 20:12 - Revised Standard Version

12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Also another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, by what they had done.

Requite them according to their work, and according to the evil of their deeds; requite them according to the work of their hands; render them their due reward.


and that to thee, O Lord, belongs steadfast love. For thou dost requite a man according to his work.


Let them be blotted out of the book of the living; let them not be enrolled among the righteous.


If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not requite man according to his work?


Do not say, “I will do to him as he has done to me; I will pay the man back for what he has done.”


For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.


“I the Lord search the mind and try the heart, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.”


great in counsel and mighty in deed; whose eyes are open to all the ways of men, rewarding every man according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings;


A stream of fire issued and came forth from before him; a thousand thousands served him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him; the court sat in judgment, and the books were opened.


But I tell you, it shall be more tolerable on the day of judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you.


For the Son of man is to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay every man for what he has done.


Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you; but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”


having a hope in God which these themselves accept, that there will be a resurrection of both the just and the unjust.


For he will render to every man according to his works:


Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then every man will receive his commendation from God.


For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive good or evil, according to what he has done in the body.


And I ask you also, true yokefellow, help these women, for they have labored side by side with me in the gospel together with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.


The nations raged, but thy wrath came, and the time for the dead to be judged, for rewarding thy servants, the prophets and saints, and those who fear thy name, both small and great, and for destroying the destroyers of the earth.”


and all who dwell on earth will worship it, every one whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb that was slain.


The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is to ascend from the bottomless pit and go to perdition; and the dwellers on earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, will marvel to behold the beast, because it was and is not and is to come.


And from the throne came a voice crying, “Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, small and great.”


and I will strike her children dead. And all the churches shall know that I am he who searches mind and heart, and I will give to each of you as your works deserve.


Then I saw a great white throne and him who sat upon it; from his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them.


And the sea gave up the dead in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead in them, and all were judged by what they had done.


and if any one's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.


But nothing unclean shall enter it, nor any one who practices abomination or falsehood, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life.


“Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense, to repay every one for what he has done.


He who conquers shall be clad thus in white garments, and I will not blot his name out of the book of life; I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.
