He takes the wise in their own craftiness; and the schemes of the wily are brought to a quick end.


Such are the paths of all who forget God; the hope of the godless man shall perish.


But they soon forgot his works; they did not wait for his counsel.


All this has come upon us, though we have not forgotten thee, or been false to thy covenant.


If we had forgotten the name of our God, or spread forth our hands to a strange god,


Like sheep they are appointed for Sheol; Death shall be their shepherd; straight to the grave they descend, and their form shall waste away; Sheol shall be their home.


“Mark this, then, you who forget God, lest I rend, and there be none to deliver!


The wicked is overthrown through his evil-doing, but the righteous finds refuge through his integrity.


The iniquities of the wicked ensnare him, and he is caught in the toils of his sin.


Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him, for what his hands have done shall be done to him.


Therefore Sheol has enlarged its appetite and opened its mouth beyond measure, and the nobility of Jerusalem and her multitude go down, her throng and he who exults in her.


This is your lot, the portion I have measured out to you, says the Lord, because you have forgotten me and trusted in lies.


But my people have forgotten me, they burn incense to false gods; they have stumbled in their ways, in the ancient roads, and have gone into bypaths, not the highway,


Can a maiden forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? Yet my people have forgotten me days without number.


A voice on the bare heights is heard, the weeping and pleading of Israel's sons because they have perverted their way, they have forgotten the Lord their God.
