I will be his father, and he shall be my son. When he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, with the stripes of the sons of men;


“And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father, and serve him with a whole heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts, and understands every plan and thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off for ever.


Hot indignation seizes me because of the wicked, who forsake thy law.


If your sons keep my covenant and my testimonies which I shall teach them, their sons also for ever shall sit upon your throne.”


Let the heavens praise thy wonders, O Lord, thy faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones!


Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law strive against them.


for I give you good precepts: do not forsake my teaching.


“For thus says the Lord: David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel,
