But a certain man drew his bow at a venture, and struck the king of Israel between the scale armor and the breastplate; therefore he said to the driver of his chariot, “Turn about, and carry me out of the battle, for I am wounded.”


For the arrows of the Almighty are in me; my spirit drinks their poison; the terrors of God are arrayed against me.


And he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; he flashed forth lightnings, and routed them.


shooting from ambush at the blameless, shooting at him suddenly and without fear.


How they are destroyed in a moment, swept away utterly by terrors!


He who is often reproved, yet stiffens his neck, will suddenly be broken beyond healing.


therefore calamity will come upon him suddenly; in a moment he will be broken beyond healing.


This is an evil in all that is done under the sun, that one fate comes to all; also the hearts of men are full of evil, and madness is in their hearts while they live, and after that they go to the dead.
