And he said, “Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake;


and said, ‘Thus far shall you come, and no farther, and here shall your proud waves be stayed’?


The cords of death encompassed me, the torrents of perdition assailed me;


And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, between me and my vineyard.


For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you.


I looked on the mountains, and lo, they were quaking, and all the hills moved to and fro.


Do you not fear me? says the Lord; Do you not tremble before me? I placed the sand as the bound for the sea, a perpetual barrier which it cannot pass; though the waves toss, they cannot prevail, though they roar, they cannot pass over it.


And the mountains will melt under him and the valleys will be cleft, like wax before the fire, like waters poured down a steep place.


The mountains quake before him, the hills melt; the earth is laid waste before him, the world and all that dwell therein.


and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.


And every island fled away, and no mountains were to be found;
