Then Joab came into the house to the king, and said, “You have today covered with shame the faces of all your servants, who have this day saved your life, and the lives of your sons and your daughters, and the lives of your wives and your concubines,


The Jews had light and gladness and joy and honor.


Consider and answer me, O Lord my God; lighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;


On the day I called, thou didst answer me, my strength of soul thou didst increase.


Yea, thou dost light my lamp; the Lord my God lightens my darkness.


Yea, let none that wait for thee be put to shame; let them be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous.


I lie down and sleep; I wake again, for the Lord sustains me.


For with thee is the fountain of life; in thy light do we see light.


and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.”


He who brings thanksgiving as his sacrifice honors me; to him who orders his way aright I will show the salvation of God!”
