Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters; and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father's flock.


She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.


She is like the ships of the merchant, she brings her food from afar.


to aspire to live quietly, to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we charged you;


and she must be well attested for her good deeds, as one who has brought up children, shown hospitality, washed the feet of the saints, relieved the afflicted, and devoted herself to doing good in every way.


So I would have younger widows marry, bear children, rule their households, and give the enemy no occasion to revile us.


to be sensible, chaste, domestic, kind, and submissive to their husbands, that the word of God may not be discredited.


So she kept close to the maidens of Boaz, gleaning until the end of the barley and wheat harvests; and she lived with her mother-in-law.
