Settle it therefore in your minds, not to meditate beforehand how to answer;


“Brethren and fathers, hear the defense which I now make before you.”


Agrippa said to Paul, “You have permission to speak for yourself.” Then Paul stretched out his hand and made his defense:


And as he thus made his defense, Festus said with a loud voice, “Paul, you are mad; your great learning is turning you mad.”


but for those who are factious and do not obey the truth, but obey wickedness, there will be wrath and fury.


What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed; and in that I rejoice.


It is right for me to feel thus about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel.


Do nothing from selfishness or conceit, but in humility count others better than yourselves.


For this I was appointed a preacher and apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.


the gospel for which I am suffering and wearing fetters like a criminal. But the word of God is not fettered.


At my first defense no one took my part; all deserted me. May it not be charged against them!
