for they did not meet the children of Israel with bread and water, but hired Balaam against them to curse them—yet our God turned the curse into a blessing.


My soul longs, yea, faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God.


This is the sum of the things for the tabernacle, the tabernacle of the testimony, as they were counted at the commandment of Moses, for the work of the Levites under the direction of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.


You are all fair, my love; there is no flaw in you.


You are beautiful as Tirzah, my love, comely as Jerusalem, terrible as an army with banners.


You shall dwell in booths for seven days; all that are native in Israel shall dwell in booths,


May the Lord cut off from the tents of Jacob, for the man who does this, any to witness or answer, or to bring an offering to the Lord of hosts!


Thus did the people of Israel. According to all that the Lord commanded Moses, so they encamped by their standards, and so they set out, every one in his family, according to his fathers' house.


And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and saw Israel encamping tribe by tribe. And the Spirit of God came upon him,


the oracle of him who hears the words of God, who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down, but having his eyes uncovered:


Like valleys that stretch afar, like gardens beside a river, like aloes that the Lord has planted, like cedar trees beside the waters.


Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord, the shield of your help, and the sword of your triumph! Your enemies shall come fawning to you; and you shall tread upon their high places.”


but I would not listen to Balaam; therefore he blessed you; so I delivered you out of his hand.
