The sons of Kohath: Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,


son of Tahath, son of Assir, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah,


the earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.


As a rock which one cleaves and shatters on the land, so shall their bones be strewn at the mouth of Sheol.


How lovely is thy dwelling place, O Lord of hosts!


Lord, thou wast favorable to thy land; thou didst restore the fortunes of Jacob.


O Lord, my God, I call for help by day; I cry out in the night before thee.


The earth is utterly broken, the earth is rent asunder, the earth is violently shaken.


Therefore Sheol has enlarged its appetite and opened its mouth beyond measure, and the nobility of Jerusalem and her multitude go down, her throng and he who exults in her.


and let every one of you take his censer, and put incense upon it, and every one of you bring before the Lord his censer, two hundred and fifty censers; you also, and Aaron, each his censer.”


But if the Lord creates something new, and the ground opens its mouth, and swallows them up, with all that belongs to them, and they go down alive into Sheol, then you shall know that these men have despised the Lord.”


And as he finished speaking all these words, the ground under them split asunder;


So they and all that belonged to them went down alive into Sheol; and the earth closed over them, and they perished from the midst of the assembly.


Now those who died by the plague were fourteen thousand seven hundred, besides those who died in the affair of Korah.
