I will come upon him while he is weary and discouraged, and throw him into a panic; and all the people who are with him will flee. I will strike down the king only,


But Judah said, “The strength of the burden-bearers is failing, and there is much rubbish; we are not able to work on the wall.”


When the Jews who lived by them came they said to us ten times, “From all the places where they live they will come up against us.”


And we prayed to our God, and set a guard as a protection against them day and night.


They band themselves together, they lurk, they watch my steps. As they have waited for my life,


But evil shall come upon you, for which you cannot atone; disaster shall fall upon you, which you will not be able to expiate; and ruin shall come on you suddenly, of which you know nothing.


When it was day, the Jews made a plot and bound themselves by an oath neither to eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.


But do not yield to them; for more than forty of their men lie in ambush for him, having bound themselves by an oath neither to eat nor drink till they have killed him; and now they are ready, waiting for the promise from you.”


For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
