and if any one forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.


To him who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also; and from him who takes away your coat do not withhold even your shirt.


To have lawsuits at all with one another is defeat for you. Why not rather suffer wrong? Why not rather be defrauded?


If any one thinks that he is not behaving properly toward his betrothed, if his passions are strong, and it has to be, let him do as he wishes: let them marry—it is no sin.
