I have been as a portent to many; but thou art my strong refuge.


He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth.


Behold, I and the children whom the Lord has given me are signs and portents in Israel from the Lord of hosts, who dwells on Mount Zion.


Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, you and your friends who sit before you, for they are men of good omen: behold, I will bring my servant the Branch.


But when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he made no answer.


But he gave him no answer, not even to a single charge; so that the governor wondered greatly.


And Pilate again asked him, “Have you no answer to make? See how many charges they bring against you.”


So he questioned him at some length; but he made no answer.


he entered the praetorium again and said to Jesus, “Where are you from?” But Jesus gave no answer.


For I think that God has exhibited us apostles as last of all, like men sentenced to death; because we have become a spectacle to the world, to angels and to men.
