O Lord, open thou my lips, and my mouth shall show forth thy praise.


Then the Lord said to him, “Who has made man's mouth? Who makes him dumb, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?


You will say in that day: “I will give thanks to thee, O Lord, for though thou wast angry with me, thy anger turned away, and thou didst comfort me.


Then the Lord put forth his hand and touched my mouth; and the Lord said to me, “Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.


“On that day I will cause a horn to spring forth to the house of Israel, and I will open your lips among them. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”


But when I speak with you, I will open your mouth, and you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God’; he that will hear, let him hear; and he that will refuse to hear, let him refuse; for they are a rebellious house.


Now the hand of the Lord had been upon me the evening before the fugitive came; and he had opened my mouth by the time the man came to me in the morning; so my mouth was opened, and I was no longer dumb.


And when the demon had been cast out, the dumb man spoke; and the crowds marveled, saying, “Never was anything like this seen in Israel.”


And behold, you will be silent and unable to speak until the day that these things come to pass, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their time.”
