These sought their registration among those enrolled in the genealogies, but they were not found there, and so they were excluded from the priesthood as unclean;

and so cause them to bear iniquity and guilt, by eating their holy things: for I am the Lord who sanctify them.”


Judah has been faithless, and abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah has profaned the sanctuary of the Lord, which he loves, and has married the daughter of a foreign god.


Has not the one God made and sustained for us the spirit of life? And what does he desire? Godly offspring. So take heed to yourselves, and let none be faithless to the wife of his youth.


You blind fools! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that has made the gold sacred?


If the dough offered as first fruits is holy, so is the whole lump; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.


For the unbelieving husband is consecrated through his wife, and the unbelieving wife is consecrated through her husband. Otherwise, your children would be unclean, but as it is they are holy.
