So Bathsheba went to King Solomon, to speak to him on behalf of Adonijah. And the king rose to meet her, and bowed down to her; then he sat on his throne, and had a seat brought for the king's mother; and she sat on his right.


but you shall fear the Lord, who brought you out of the land of Egypt with great power and with an outstretched arm; you shall bow yourselves to him, and to him you shall sacrifice.


Now Elihu had waited to speak to Job because they were older than he.


And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered: “I am young in years, and you are aged; therefore I was timid and afraid to declare my opinion to you.


A hoary head is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life.


The glory of young men is their strength, but the beauty of old men is their gray hair.


Hearken to your father who begot you, and do not despise your mother when she is old.


And the people will oppress one another, every man his fellow and every man his neighbor; the youth will be insolent to the elder, and the base fellow to the honorable.


Princes are hung up by their hands; no respect is shown to the elders.


You shall not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block before the blind, but you shall fear your God: I am the Lord.


Pay all of them their dues, taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.


Do not rebuke an older man but exhort him as you would a father; treat younger men like brothers,


Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.
