But the Lord had not said that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven, so he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.


The heavens are the Lord's heavens, but the earth he has given to the sons of men.


Let them be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of the Lord driving them on!


Let their way be dark and slippery, with the angel of the Lord pursuing them!


If I had said, “I will speak thus,” I would have been untrue to the generation of thy children.


When I look at thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars which thou hast established;


Thus says the Lord: “Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool; what is the house which you would build for me, and what is the place of my rest?


Thus shall you say to them: “The gods who did not make the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under the heavens.”


O Lord, thou knowest; remember me and visit me, and take vengeance for me on my persecutors. In thy forbearance take me not away; know that for thy sake I bear reproach.


“Thou hast wrapped thyself with anger and pursued us, slaying without pity;


Israel has spurned the good; the enemy shall pursue him.


Therefore when the Lord your God has given you rest from all your enemies round about, in the land which the Lord your God gives you for an inheritance to possess, you shall blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; you shall not forget.


The Lord would not pardon him, but rather the anger of the Lord and his jealousy would smoke against that man, and the curses written in this book would settle upon him, and the Lord would blot out his name from under heaven.


And he will give their kings into your hand, and you shall make their name perish from under heaven; not a man shall be able to stand against you, until you have destroyed them.
