For we are the true circumcision, who worship God in spirit, and glory in Christ Jesus, and put no confidence in the flesh.


As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.


Therefore on that day he was called Jerubbaal, that is to say, “Let Baal contend against him,” because he pulled down his altar.


and you have risen up against my father's house this day, and have slain his sons, seventy men on one stone, and have made Abimelech, the son of his maidservant, king over the citizens of Shechem, because he is your kinsman—


but if not, let fire come out from Abimelech, and devour the citizens of Shechem, and Beth-millo; and let fire come out from the citizens of Shechem, and from Beth-millo, and devour Abimelech.”
