and say, ‘Thus says the king, “Put this fellow in prison, and feed him with scant fare of bread and water, until I come in peace.” ’ ”


When Jehu came out to the servants of his master, they said to him, “Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?” And he said to them, “You know the fellow and his talk.”


He made known his ways to Moses, his acts to the people of Israel.


He sent Moses his servant, and Aaron whom he had chosen.


When men in the camp were jealous of Moses and Aaron, the holy one of the Lord,


But I am a worm, and no man; scorned by men, and despised by the people.


“Remember the law of my servant Moses, the statutes and ordinances that I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel.


And Moses said, “Hereby you shall know that the Lord has sent me to do all these works, and that it has not been of my own accord.


But when the Pharisees heard it they said, “It is only by Be-elzebul, the prince of demons, that this man casts out demons.”


and said, “This fellow said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.’ ”


And they began to accuse him, saying, “We found this man perverting our nation, and forbidding us to give tribute to Caesar, and saying that he himself is Christ a king.”


For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.


Yet we know where this man comes from; and when the Christ appears, no one will know where he comes from.”


So Jesus proclaimed, as he taught in the temple, “You know me, and you know where I come from? But I have not come of my own accord; he who sent me is true, and him you do not know.


Jesus answered, “Even if I do bear witness to myself, my testimony is true, for I know whence I have come and whither I am going, but you do not know whence I come or whither I am going.


Some of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from God, for he does not keep the sabbath.” But others said, “How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?” There was a division among them.


So for the second time they called the man who had been blind, and said to him, “Give God the praise; we know that this man is a sinner.”


The man answered, “Why, this is a marvel! You do not know where he comes from, and yet he opened my eyes.


Up to this word they listened to him; then they lifted up their voices and said, “Away with such a fellow from the earth! For he ought not to live.”


To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would come to pass:


“This Moses whom they refused, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’ God sent as both ruler and deliverer by the hand of the angel that appeared to him in the bush.


And there has not arisen a prophet since in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face,


In many and various ways God spoke of old to our fathers by the prophets;


but in these last days he has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.
