He spoke of trees, from the cedar that is in Lebanon to the hyssop that grows out of the wall; he spoke also of beasts, and of birds, and of reptiles, and of fish.


Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.


Take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood which is in the basin, and touch the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood which is in the basin; and none of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning.


then a clean person shall take hyssop, and dip it in the water, and sprinkle it upon the tent, and upon all the furnishings, and upon the persons who were there, and upon him who touched the bone, or the slain, or the dead, or the grave;


they offered him wine to drink, mingled with gall; but when he tasted it, he would not drink it.


And one of them at once ran and took a sponge, filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave it to him to drink.
