As the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell on Abram; and lo, a dread and great darkness fell upon him.


So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh;


But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, “Behold, you are a dead man, because of the woman whom you have taken; for she is a man's wife.”


And he dreamed that there was a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven; and behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it!


But God came to Laban the Aramean in a dream by night, and said to him, “Take heed that you say not a word to Jacob, either good or bad.”


And God spoke to Israel in visions of the night, and said, “Jacob, Jacob.” And he said, “Here am I.”


dread came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones shake.


Then I heard the sound of his words; and when I heard the sound of his words, I fell on my face in deep sleep with my face to the ground.
