Job 38:28

May God give you of the dew of heaven, and of the fatness of the earth, and plenty of grain and wine.


Then Isaac his father answered him: “Behold, away from the fatness of the earth shall your dwelling be, and away from the dew of heaven on high.


“Ye mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew or rain upon you, nor upsurging of the deep! For there the shield of the mighty was defiled, the shield of Saul, not anointed with oil.


Now Elijah the Tishbite, of Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word.”


my roots spread out to the waters, with the dew all night on my branches,


For he draws up the drops of water, he distils his mist in rain


which the skies pour down, and drop upon man abundantly.


“Or who shut in the sea with doors, when it burst forth from the womb;


He covers the heavens with clouds, he prepares rain for the earth, he makes grass grow upon the hills.


by his knowledge the deeps broke forth, and the clouds drop down the dew.


When he utters his voice there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he makes the mist rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightnings for the rain, and he brings forth the wind from his storehouses.


Are there any among the false gods of the nations that can bring rain? Or can the heavens give showers? Art thou not he, O Lord our God? We set our hope on thee, for thou doest all these things.


They do not say in their hearts, ‘Let us fear the Lord our God, who gives the rain in its season, the autumn rain and the spring rain, and keeps for us the weeks appointed for the harvest.’


I will be as the dew to Israel; he shall blossom as the lily, he shall strike root as the poplar;


“Be glad, O sons of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord, your God; for he has given the early rain for your vindication, he has poured down for you abundant rain, the early and the latter rain, as before.


“And I also withheld the rain from you when there were yet three months to the harvest; I would send rain upon one city, and send no rain upon another city; one field would be rained upon, and the field on which it did not rain withered;


so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.


And of Joseph he said, “Blessed by the Lord be his land, with the choicest gifts of heaven above, and of the deep that couches beneath,


So Israel dwelt in safety, the fountain of Jacob alone, in a land of grain and wine; yea, his heavens drop down dew.
